## Technical Alert

Adobe Target & Experience Fragment Configuration

For Solutions utilizing Adobe Target that encounter Issues with incorrectly externalized URLs (Broken Links) within Experience Fragments, please follow these Instructions:

It is essential to verify that the Externalizer is accurately defined within the Experience Fragment Configuration. If this Field remains empty, Adobe will automatically select the first available URL from the Dropdown Menu, which may lead to Errors.

To resolve this, follow these Steps:

- Navigate to the Experience Fragments Console in AEM.
- Locate the Directory containing your Experience Fragment and select it.
- Choose the Properties Option from the Toolbar.
- Switch to the Cloud Services Tab within the Properties Dialog.
- Select the intended externalized Domain from the Dropdown Menu.

## Default UI-KIT Version

##### Default Version for Release: eon-ui-kit v_4.36.0

All AEM Releases are tested against a default UI-Kit Version, which is set in CAC MultiBrandMainConfig as **Fallback**. If CAC MultiBrandMainConfig is not set manually, then this Version will be set for your Website.

Solutions having their own UI-Kit (e.g. Suewag, Energiewacht) will always have to update manually.

## 1. Features

All Features will be documented in the Foundation Showroom (latest three Weeks after the Release).

#### 1.1 FoundationNG Error Message Component

This new Authorable Component allows Editors to configure Error Messages with Features like Fixed Positioning, Auto-Close Timers, and Custom Color Schemes. It integrates the E.ON UI Kit to provide Users with clearly styled Feedback through a Flexible Content Slot.

[EONWCMS-140](https://jira.eon.com/browse/EONWCMS-140)

#### 1.2 Provide Configurable No-JS Fallback Redirect via FoundationNG Site Config

This new Feature allows Site Owners to configure a dedicated Static Fallback Page via FoundationNG Site Config to support Users with JavaScript disabled. When configured, the System automatically redirects these Users to the specified Path to ensure they still receive essential Information and a consistent Experience.

## 2. Enhancements

## 2.1 Transform <b>/<i> to <strong>/<em> at Render Time for all RTE Content

This Enhancement ensures Semantic Markup by programmatically replacing Legacy <b> and <i> Tags with <strong> and <em> during the Render Time for all Rich-Text-Editor Components. This change improves Accessibility for Users of Assistive Technologies without requiring any Content Migration for existing Data.

[EONWCMS-141](https://jira.eon.com/browse/EONWCMS-141)

## 2.2 Make elementID and toolID Editable for View and Click-Link Events

We introduced a new Checkbox in the Tracking Configuration that allows Editors to manually define custom elementID and toolID values for View and Click-Link Events. When these Fields are left empty, the System automatically reverts to the Default Logic, ensuring flexible Tracking across Teasers, Links, and Tiles.

[EONWCMS-132](https://jira.eon.com/browse/EONWCMS-132)

## 2.3 Migration Script to have 6 as Default for "Total File Size" of Form Container

To optimize the Authoring Process, this Enhancement introduces a Migration Script that automatically sets the Default Value for the "Allowed sum of file sizes" in Form Containers to 6 MB whenever the Field is empty. This Update ensures that Editors can save Form Container Dialogs without Errors while still allowing for manual overrides of the Value as needed.

[EONWCMS-130](https://jira.eon.com/browse/EONWCMS-130)

## 2.4 Skip Link Feature with Navigation, Content, Footer Targets

Improving site Accessibility and WCAG Compliance, this Feature replaces the legacy Integration with the new eon-ui-skip-link Web Component to provide better Keyboard Navigation. Editors can now centrally manage Skip Link Labels and Target IDs via the FoundationNG Site Config, allowing Users to jump directly to the Navigation, Main Content, or Footer sections of a Page.

[EONWCMS-126](https://jira.eon.com/browse/EONWCMS-126)

## 2.5 Lumos - Debug New Relic Error Logs (1st pass)

Improving site Accessibility and WCAG Compliance, this Feature replaces the legacy Integration with the new eon-ui-skip-link Web Component to provide better Keyboard Navigation. Editors can now centrally manage Skip Link Labels and Target IDs via the FoundationNG Site Config, allowing Users to jump directly to the Navigation, Main Content, or Footer sections of a Page.

[EONWCMS-137](https://jira.eon.com/browse/EONWCMS-137)

## 2.6 Identify "false positive" and 'real' Issues from Sonar Dashboard

To optimize the Authoring Process, this Enhancement introduces a Migration Script that automatically sets the Default Value for the "Allowed sum of file sizes" in Form Containers to 6 MB whenever the Field is empty. This Update ensures that Editors can save Form Container Dialogs without Errors while still allowing for manual overrides of the Value as needed.

[EONWCMS-130](https://jira.eon.com/browse/EONWCMS-130)

## 2.7 Update Dependencies with Vulnerability Warnings

Ensuring the long-term Security of the Platform, this Enhancement involved a detailed Analysis and Update of various System Dependencies that were flagged with Vulnerability Warnings. The Team evaluated the Consequences of newer Version adoptions to mitigate Security Risks while maintaining System Stability across the FoundationNG codebase.

[EONWCMS-118](https://jira.eon.com/browse/EONWCMS-118)

## 2.8 Display AEM Cloud Service Version

A Frontend Dashboard to display AEM Cloud Service Versions across all Environments for all Programs.

## 3. Bug Fixes

by Foundation & OPS Team

## 3.1 Form Text Verification API call not sent

We implemented an Undefined Check and Fallback for the Validation Endpoint within the Form Text Input Component to increase System Robustness.

[DDSMBFOUN-13649](https://jira.eon.com/browse/DDSMBFOUN-13649)

## 3.2 Image Crop not Working

We fixed a functional Issue within the Text Teaser where the Image Crop Button was unresponsive. Editors can now successfully use the Crop Image Feature on both existing and new Text Teaser Components across all Landing Pages.

[DDSMBFOUN-13528](https://jira.eon.com/browse/DDSMBFOUN-13528)

## 3.3 Issue in Rich-Text-Editor

We fixed a critical Link Issue within the Rich-Text-Editor where Components like the Text Teaser were displaying incorrect URLs. To ensure System Stability, we implemented a Validation Rule that prevents the use of Shortened Internal Links while still supporting External URLs and Anchor Links.

[DDSMBFOUN-13565](https://jira.eon.com/browse/DDSMBFOUN-13565)

## 3.4 Resolve Critical & Blocker Issues in Adobe's Pipeline

We fixed several Critical and Blocker Issues within Adobe’s Cloud Manager Pipeline to ensure a smooth Build and Deployment Process. These Technical Fixes resolved Security Hotspots and UI Test Failures, significantly improving the overall Stability and Security of the Deployment Pipeline.

[EONWCMS-136](https://jira.eon.com/browse/EONWCMS-136)
