## 4.63.0

## FreeHTML Component now restricted

FreeHTML Component (foundationNG) - Permission Update

We have implemented a restriction on the FreeHTML component to enhance platform security.

Editing access is now limited to users with special permissions.

Authors without editable permissions can still drag and drop the component; however, the dialog will appear empty with no editable fields.

This measure has been intentionally introduced to prevent script injection and mitigate potential security risks.

To obtain editable permission for the FreeHTML component, users must be part of the eon-foundation-freehtml-editor group.

To request access, please contact [jebin.varghese2@eon.com](mailto:jebin.varghese2@eon.com) or [janosch.kutschker@eon.com](mailto:janosch.kutschker@eon.com) via ticket/email for including you in group.

## Two new Components

Please create Proxy if you need

To use our new Business Card Editor Component or our Q&A (Question and Answer) Component, Solutions need to create a Proxy Component on their end, as usually.

## Default UI-KIT Version

##### Default Version for Release: eon-ui-kit v_4.38.0

All AEM Releases are tested against a default UI-Kit Version, which is set in CAC MultiBrandMainConfig as **Fallback**. If CAC MultiBrandMainConfig is not set manually, then this Version will be set for your Website.

Solutions having their own UI-Kit (e.g. Suewag, Energiewacht) will always have to update manually.

## 1. Features

All Features will be documented in the Foundation Showroom (latest three Weeks after the Release).

#### 1.1 Q&A Component

We have introduced the brand-new Q&A Component, which allows Editors to easily manage structured question-and-answer Items using a flexible multifield dialog. Designed with the same logic as the accordion, this component is optimized for search engine scanability and can be placed across various layout areas like Grids, Stages, and Teasers.

**Be aware:**

**schema.org is still not functional yet, but it can be used to create Content.**

#### 1.2 Business Card - Editor Component

The new Component allows you to display Author Information inside a stylish Box Background. It features an intelligent multi-link Dialog that automatically identifies social media channels (like LinkedIn or Instagram) and organizes them in a consistent, predefined sort Order for a professional Look.

## 2. Enhancements

## 2.1 In-Place Editing

To improve authoring speed, we have enabled In-Place Editing for text-based Components, allowing you to edit Content directly on the Page without opening a Dialog. A minimal inline Toolbar (including bold, italic, and links) is now available for quick Updates, with changes being saved and visible immediately.

## 2.2 Modal Visibility

We have fixed a Layout bug in the Modal Component that previously caused unintended whitespace on published Pages when multiple Modals were stacked together. With this update, Modals remain completely invisible and do not affect the Page flow or spacing until they are specifically triggered by a user click.

## 2.3 Hidden Form Fields

The editor experience for the Hidden Form Field Component has been improved to show both the Element name and its Value directly in the AEM preview. Using a disabled Input Field, this update allows Editors to verify hidden Data at a glance without needing to open the Component Dialog.

## 2.4 Free HTML Restriction

To enhance platform Security and ensure Content Governance, Authoring permissions for the Free HTML Component have been restricted. While standard Editors will continue to use secure, structured Components like Text or RTE, the ability to add or modify raw HTML is now limited to a specific, privileged Group of trusted Authors.

## 2.5 Info Icon Labels

The field labels within the Info Icon Component Dialog have been updated to provide better clarity for Editors. The new labels clearly distinguish between different input types, such as Modal ID, Tooltip Experience Fragment, and Tooltip Text, making the configuration process more intuitive.

## 2.6 Code Cleanup

To ensure long-term Platform Stability and Security, we have removed several deprecated third-party Libraries (including com.google.common and org.apache.log4j) from the Foundation codebase. This critical Maintenance ensures that the Platform remains fully supported and functional beyond Adobe's February 2026 removal Deadlines.

[EONWCMS-514](https://jira.eon.com/browse/EONWCMS-514?src=confmacro)

## 2.7 Analytics ID

We have implemented unique Analytics IDs data-component-uuid for a wide range of Components, including Teasers, Buttons, and Multi Content Stages, to make them easily identifiable in tracking Tools like Adobe Target.

## 3. Bug Fixes

by Foundation & OPS Team

## 3.1 Quote in Box Component

We have resolved a technical Issue where the Quote Component was breaking when placed inside specific Containers like the Box component or the Content Header. This fix ensures that Quotes are rendered correctly and remain stable regardless of their Placement within different Layout Components.

## 3.2 Adobe Target Selector Logic

We have resolved a technical Issue where the Quote Component was breaking when placed inside specific Containers like the Box component or the Content Header. This fix ensures that Quotes are rendered correctly and remain stable regardless of their Placement within different Layout Components.
