### Description

The Search Component can be used to offer an Option to search the full Website. To use this, Solr Indexing of Pages is needed.

- Solar Indexing needed
- Pages are indexed 5-10 Minutes after Publishing
- Configuration of Search with Solr Querry

### Usage Rules & Features

- Autocomplete can be enabled

##### Design

- Choose Number of Search Results shown initially per Page
- Empower Users to change Number of Search Results
- Configure what will be shown if no Results found for a Query

### Request Solar Index

For Integrating a Search, it is necessary to have Solr Index for the Pages. Therefore, please request Solr Index with OPS Team by getting in Touch with the Platform Service Owner.

Expert Mode!

### Add Search to Page

The Search Component needs to be added to a Page. Then, it can be configured. But for making Search work, most important is Search API Information Tab, as API URL and additional Parameters needs to be configured here.

**Normally, this is done by OPS-Team or AEM Developers.**

#### Expert Mode only!

This should **not be configured or changed by normal Editors** as it will directly effect the hole Search. So, only Analytics/Business Editor or AEM Developer should configure or change it.

### Text & Styling

In Text & Styling Tab the Search Component can be designed by Editor. Therefore, following Settings can be made:

- Search Icon

Enter the Name of the Icon that should be displayed in Search Field. By default Icon "Search" ist used, but all Icons from Repository ([see on Storybook](https://storybook.web-ui.eon.com/eon/master/?path=/story/media-icon--all-icons)) are possible.

- Headline

Enter some Headline Text for Search.

- HTML-Tag for SEO

Choose an HTML-Tag for SEO of Headline.

- Placeholder Label

Enter some Text as Label for Search Field.

- Search Results Headline

Enter some Headline Text for Search Results.

- HTML-Tag for SEO

Choose an HTML-Tag for SEO of Search Result Headline.

- Enable Autocomplete

Check it, if autocomplete should work for Search.

- Pagination Type

Pagination can be of Type Dropdown or Number.

- Items per Page

Enter Number of Search Results shown initially per Page.

- Available Page Sizes

Enter all available Values in Items per Page Dropdown as comma-separated Values.

- Background Color for Search Headline

Choose a Background Color for Search Headline.

- Background Color for Search Results

Choose a Background Color for Search Results.

### Add Content for "no Result found"

In the Parsys of Search Component, Editor needs to add a [Grid Control](/content/foundationNG/en/page-elements/grid.html). In this Grid, all other Components can be added. This Content is only shown, when no Result is found for a Search Term.

## Indexing of Pages

Keep in Mind

Pages that have hide in Search Option activated in their Page Properties, will never show up as Search Result !
